A poetic drama about emerging desire in a group of young people in a Brazilian fishing village.
In 1996, Tamara spends the last summer before she leaves home with the village youths on the Brazilian coast. In the shimmering heat, she repeatedly encounters a secretive teenager who is disapprovingly called ‚Heartless‘ by the group because of a scar on her chest. In the beguiling summer atmosphere, in which desire stirs among the teenagers, Tamara begins to get closer to the enigmatic young woman. But the web of friendships and love affairs that is tied around the two heroines soon appears to be fragile: at any moment, the scorching heat in which the passions blossom threatens to turn into a suffocating hothouse of violence…
In sensual, poetic images, Sem Coração tells of the emergence of desire in a group of young people. As tender and cruel as the summer, the narrative moves from character to character, tracing the fate of this collective between joy and downfall, love and farewell.
