A tender and politically important drama from Nigeria about an unexpected love.

To say that this film is a political film does not begin to do it justice. In Nigeria, homosexuality is persecuted by the state and is socially ostracised. Despite these circumstances, Babatunde Apalowo has created a milestone with his debut film. With a unique cinematic language, he stages a love story against the backdrop of the mega-metropolis Lagos that is free of the clichés of Hollywood and the exoticising view from Europe. Bambino has actually settled into his life quite well, but his encounter with Bawa quickly shakes this carefully constructed framework.

Babatunde Apalowo has already won various prizes at film festivals. With „All the Colours of the World Are Between Black and White“ he won the Teddy Award 2023. Originally from Nigeria, he now lives in England.
