Old meets new in an inspiring short film program curated by the Queer Group of the HFF Munich.

For the short film program „Crossing Timelines“, the Queer Group of the Munich Film School has explored the legacy of Queer Cinema and lets three works from past generations enter into dialogue with three current short films. Queer, socio-critical filmmaking is not only considered under aspects of representation and content, but is seen as the application of a resistant attitude. Queer Cinema as methodology, as a cinematographic gaze that breaks with the dominant narratives and linear constructions of established cinema.

Under this premise, 6 short films are presented, which enter into dialogue with each other with regard to various aspects – sometimes with regard to the chosen theme, sometimes in terms of aesthetics, sometimes from the perspective of unconventional dramaturgies. The three film teams of the current short films will be on site and talk about their understanding of Queer Cinema after the screening.
