In the South Korean underground, two women want to land the really big coup – a gripping thriller by Han Shuai.
At Seoul airport, Jin Xia meets a mysterious greenhaired woman during her shift as a security officer. They are both trapped in dependencies but find a way to escape: they join forces and dive into the criminal underbelly of the Korean capital. Somewhere between mistrust and attraction, the two protagonists chase through the night. Fearless, captivating and atmospherically dense, Green Night effortlessly reinterprets the stereotypical thriller.
Director Han Shuai‘s debut feature Han Nan Xia Ri (Summer Blurs) was awarded the Grand Prix of the International Jury in the Competition Kplus at the 2021 Berlinale. With her second feature Green Night, she succeeds at creating a relentless thriller which puts a modern twist on film noir.
