A captivating film adaptation of the book of the same name by Constance Debré, with a magnificent Vicky Krieps in the lead role as a lesbian mother.
Parisian lawyer Clémence breaks up with her husband Laurent after 20 years to reinvent herself. This also involves coming out as a lesbian. Their seven-year-old son Paul increasingly finds himself caught in the conflict between his parents. Her ex-partner seeks custody and tries to influence the boy. As the family dynamics come to a head, Clémence struggles not to lose her emotional closeness to her child. A two-hour balancing act between self-discovery and inner turmoil. An extremely powerful story about the struggle to be a mother and sexual freedom as a woman.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and was nominated for the Queer Palm.
