In their teenage years, Mimi, her brother Julien, and the neighbor kid Logan are an inseparable trio – until a harrowing incident in October 1991 destroys their intimate friendship. The three go their separate ways, nothing is the same anymore. Thirty years later, Mimi is a funeral director and returns home to bury her mother‘s body, as she had stipulated in her will. There, after all these years, she meets her estranged brothers. And it‘s not long before secrets buried deep in the past come to light.
What is a family? What can family be? And can it be reunited and reconciled even after years of distance? Xavier Dolan (Mommy, Laurence Anyways) meticulously explores these questions in his series. And of course he doesn‘t miss the opportunity to star himself alongside Anne Dorval.
