The setting is Babel – a legendary nightclub where Death itself comes and goes. In the guise of the cruel yet always immaculately styled La Flaca, she gambles night after night for the life years of those daring enough to challenge her. Like a spider at the center of a taut web, she is surrounded by a host of struggling figures: Dante, her tragic messenger; the ghost Monet, desperate to return to his body; Timbí and Uma on their journey through hell; and Jacob, whose drag debut threatens to ignite conflict with his family… Will they manage to breakfree?
In extravagant images, Gala del Sol crafts a queer mosaic rich in camp, tropical hues, and magical realism. Between punk-infused aesthetics and surreal flourishes, „Rains Over Babel“ is a feast for the eyes – campy, sensual, and wildly entertaining.
