Angetrieben von dem Ziel Kiki zu retten, begibt sich Prinzessin Saira auf eine inter-gay-laktische Reise der Selbstfindung. Mit ihrem skurrilen Raumschiff und neugewonnener Freund*inschaften trotzt Saira nicht nur ihren Selbstzweifeln, sondern auch patriarchalen Kreaturen, denen sie außerhalb Clitopolis begegnet.
Mit Lesbian Space Princess haben Emma Hough Hobbs und Leela Varghese den Teddy Award 2025 gewonnen. Der Film wird außerdem mit dem diesjährigen QueerScope-Debütfilm- preis ausgezeichnet. Der QueerScope Debütfilmpreis wird dieses Jahr zum 10. Mal verliehen, Lesbian Space Princess ist der erste Animationsfilm, der den Preis erringt. Passend zum Doppeljubiläum richtet das QFFM die feierliche Preisverleihung direkt vor dem Screening aus.

An animated comedy adventure through the vastness of queer space.
The introverted Princess Saira, daughter of lesbian queens, leaves her home planet Clitopolis to rescue her ex-girlfriend Kiki from the clutches of Straight Withe Maliens. With only 24 hours to summon the only effective weapon, a royal double axe, the symbol of lesbian power. Driven by the goal of saving Kiki, Princess Saira embarks on an inter-gay-lactic journey of self-discovery. With her quirky spaceship and newfound friendships, Saira not only defies her self-doubts, but also the patriarchal creatures she encounters outside Clitopolis.
Emma Hough Hobbs and Leela Varghese won the 2025 Teddy Award for Lesbian Space Princess. The film also won this year‘s QueerScope Debut Film Award. The QueerScope Debut Film Award is being presented for the 10th time this year, and Lesbian Space Princess is the first animated film to win the award. In keeping with the double anniversary, the QFFM is hosting the award ceremony directly before the screening.
